More voices, more power...

Gita Wolf, Director, Tara Books

At a time when there is increasing appropriation, exclusion and divisiveness in all walks of life, it is so heartening to see a creative initiative that seeks to break down barriers and boundaries. It is easy to destroy, but hard to build: we should all love to see the festival thrive and grow. Wishing you all the best.

Shuba Kukillaya, teacher of Yoga

I heard of this endeavour from an email sent out by Nityanand Jayaraman. What struck me immediately was the fact that it would form a bridge between two worlds that are otherwise in isolation from each other. Would the kuppam residents feel patronised, I wondered. And was reassured after reading that artists from the kuppam would be sharing the stage. Will the concert lead to at least one person wanting music (in a previously unknown avatar) to be a part of his or her life? I certainly hope so. All the best, and may this lead to many new beginnings.
